Dear faithful supporter,

As the state of California begins to reopen churches, businesses, and schools, We cannot help but feel for the youth who typically come into our centers on a daily basis and their inability to do so over the past 100 days. That is why we are excited to announce that Youth Venture has re-opened its doors! As we continue to navigate state and federal guidelines on reopening, as well as seek guidance from the pastoral leadership at Foothills Christian Church, we believe it is best to reopen slowly but surely amidst a fluid situation, which is why we will first reopen our doors of our Santee location, on a limited basis.

Once we have more information about how this phased reopening rolls out, you can expect us to reopen our other teen centers as soon as possible.

For now, here are the measures we are implementing to ensure the safety of all who enter Youth Venture:

Check-In Procedure

• A signed, updated permission slip required by all members
• Temperature check and brief health screen

Healthy Environment

• No admittance to anyone who has exhibited symptoms
• No admittance to anyone who has been exposed to anyone in his/her household that has exhibited symptoms or tested positive for COVID
• No admittance to anyone who has a fever higher than 100*F
• Disinfecting every hour and at the end of each staff person’s shift – applicable to shared equipment, tables, and chairs etc.
• No visitors allowed unless otherwise approved by a Site Director (visitors must wear masks)
• Tables and chairs separated by 6 feet of distance
• Hand sanitizer placed throughout the center
• Box of gloves available for optional use
• Turning off every other gaming station
• Removing board games

Student Health

•  Limited attendance to 15 students at a time
• Mandatory face coverings within 6 feet of another person
• Encourage attendance on the same day / time each week
• Encourage social distancing

Staff Health & Well-being

• Mandatory face coverings within 6 feet of another person
• Continued commitment to shift schedule (same day / time each week)

As we continue to monitor the regulations and situation surrounding COVID, we will adjust and adapt our strategy accordingly with the hopeful expectation of opening our other centers soon.
