For three weeks in September, we took kids on daily outings that consisted of a short Bible study followed by a recreational activity. Many kids were able to experience certain activities for the first time, such as stand-up paddle boarding or greeting the sea lions at La Jolla Cove, as well as fellowship with peers outside of their virtual learning environments. Our staff felt like this was a crucial element to the kids’ daily schedules as many of them did not have opportunities to engage with their peers outside of Xbox Live and Playstation.

CDC guidelines were enforced, which consisted of mask-wearing during transport, physical distancing when possible, and limiting groups to no more than 10 kids and two adults. Consistency in group scheduling was also encouraged to minimize contact of kids from different groups.

Not only has this season been hard on kids, we know it has been disruptive for many families and businesses. Therefore, we cannot express our gratitude enough for those who continue to support Youth Venture financially and in prayer. Without your contribution, we could not have made this possible. Thank you!
